vent, accomplishment & random

Vent - I have been updating my registry because MIL is throwing me a shower in October (none of the dates before LO arrived worked). 

DH and I were going to buy the ergo off our registry because we need it now, but I checked my registry and the ergo had been purchased (I don't think by anyone attending the shower). I noticed it was purchased over a week ago, but it hasn't arrived yet! We keep waiting because we really need it :-( 

today, I was updating again and noticed two more things were purchased :-) not very expensive items, but we need them (sun shade for the car window) so that's nice!

Accomplishment - I ordered LO's birth announcements and some prints for the frames in his room. :-) They should arrive in the next week or so! 

Random - I have been up a lot with LO (as to be expected). All the original James Bond movies are on Netflix. I have been watching them (in order) and they really hold up. They are only on there through Sept. 2nd, so if you want to watch them, you might do so now. :-)

I wouldn't assume that it is being shipped to you just because it was purchased. Maybe they are waiting for the shower. This is kind of why showers after the baby are hard and should be thrown ASAP. October is almost useless to have a shower because you will need so much of those items looooong before that. Buy it yourself and return it whenever you get the gift. A shower two months after the baby is a little ridiculous, IMO. At that point it isn't a shower it is a meet and greet with the baby and should probably be called that. How a weekend couldn't be agreed upon from the time you were 20w on is crazy to me but its not my schedule to work with. Good luck-hope you get the things that you need.

It was MIL who didnt like any of the dates I was available (she keeps a busy schedule).

Honestly, I would have preferred to decline the shower from her for a lot of reasons. But I am going to grin and bear it, it is likely the only baby shower she will get to do. She only has twin boys (dh and bil) BIL is disabled.

I don't think any of the shower guests bought it. I suspect it was my sister who lives out of state.

I think it is more than MIL's shower guests would spend.

My BFF said she had a carrier I could borrow, so I might go pick that one up from her.

Vent - I have zero interest in going back to work after LO arrives, but financially I have to. It sucks and I've cried at least twice over t.

Accomplishment - I put my foot down about DH having wrestling (he's a referee for local wwe style shows...) bookings all the time. He thinks he's going to have time for 3 shows a month when LO arrives. I may have convinced him after we were gone 9 hours over the weekend for 1 show that it isn't going to be happening. Win!

Random - I had a dream last night that I was being chased by an intelligent tornado in a parking garage last night. What the fuck?

Vent- I made DH coffee this morning and he complained about it being really sweet (didn't really complain but kinda just told me) I flipped out and started crying and I told him he's a jerk. He left mad and I'm still crying. Dam hormones!!

Accomplishment- I don't have one as of right now

Random- I think something is wrong with my dog. She is really good at waiting to go pee every morning and yesterday I caught her peeing in the living room and then today before taking her out to pee in the grass I walked to the truck to grab something (pretty usual) and she just started peeing on the cement next to the truck.

going back to work is going to be difficult, but honestly I am jealous of DH who got to go back last week. he gets to sleep at night (while I feed LO) and then he gets to work all day (while I calm a baby who gets colic). Part of me wanted to go back to work too!

Vent-I woke up with the migraine I went to bed with last night. It is so bad I might have to call someone to take care of Ava Nichol. DH is working, my mom is on vacation, my good friend is working. All my top picks are busy. Even MIL has in service today I just want to cry but I know that will make my head hurt more. Ugh it is so bad I might throw up.

Accomplishment-I did my paper yesterday and wasn't even stressed for time. I was scared to write a paper again after so long but it just came so naturally. I am happy thatmy smarts are coming back even after time off and a baby!

Random-I got a vacuum sized steam cleaner at the neighbor's yard sale and I can't wait to try it! I would love to be able to clean my carpets like once a month but borrowing my mom's giant steam cleaner is a PIA!

How can I know for sure? What do I do? I've never had a dog before so I have no idea what to do

You have to take her to the vet. You could try calling first but they will probably ask you to bring pup in.

Vent: I have been looking everywhere for a nice, nursing-friendly dress to wear to A's baptism, but I can't find anything.

Accomplishment: I just power pumped for an hour in my office and got an extra half ounce (that's pretty good for my sad boobs).

Random: I need to go on a diet to lose this baby weight but I am hungry all the time so I don't wanna.

oh man my poor little girl. She has not been having a good time. First her ears and now this.

Does this happen to all dogs at some point or did I do something wrong? I feel like a bad pet mommy :'(

@bridget0117 I think some dogs are just predispositioned to get them but hopefully the vet can give you some tips on how to prevent them in the future if that is what is going on.

The other possibility is that she can sense the huge changes that are about to happen and it is giving her an anxious bladder. I would take her to the vet to be sure though.

I have never dealt with this personally though.

@wiggyslilsis I think both are possibilities. She is such a mamas girl and is very spoiled so she could be feeling the change that's going to happen. Shes a jealous girl when it comes to my nephews so I guess it could be that. I will make her an appointment and update as soon as I know whats going on.

Vent - I am just thinking about how I start back to work next week

Accomplishment - I was able to weed this morning by taking B outside in the shade and bringing a blanket for him to do tummy time on. He loves being outside.

Random - I have done so many fun things while I leave. I'm sad trips to the toy lending library, new moms coffee, the children's museum, etc will end soon.

@mrads those sound like some awesome outings you guys have had! Hopefully you will still be able to make it to some of those things even though work will certainly be a time suck! DD and I hardly ever get out of the house

vent- I am exhausted physically, my feet are killing me, I need better shoes badly and there is laundry that needs to be done and dishes I've been asking DH (who had the last week off) to do but he "forgets" so I am probably going to have to do them. He's usually a good helper, but it seems the more exhausted I am the more forgetful he is.... 

accomplishment- I made it through the first two days of school and love my kids already. I am so excited to work with them this year.

Vent: I have one of the most psychotic coworkers of all time right now. She blatantly lies about things that I can see are untrue in email, from documents or from other coworkers, or even all three. I am used to working with unique, weird and annoying people in my field but I really think she's insane.

Accomplishment: AW- I am proud of my weight gain during pregnancy. I'm at 7 lbs total so far. With being inactive around the time of my surgery I was worried I would gain too quickly because of it. I was overweight to begin with so I didn't want a buncha pounds to hinder a healthy pregnancy.

Random: I have a whole bag of pink lady apples downstairs and that's what I want to eat for dinner. The whole bag.
